Investor overview · Early stage

Building an accessible Malaysian breakfast brand for the region.

A consumer brand on the surface, an investable operating model underneath. TOAST is pre-launch — this overview shares the concept, the plan and how to get involved.

Figures, formats and timelines shown here are early-stage plans, subject to validation through the first outlet.

01

Market Opportunity

Malaysian breakfast is beloved at home and increasingly curious abroad, yet it's rarely presented in a way that's easy for a newcomer to approach. There's room for a focused, welcoming breakfast brand that both locals and first-timers trust.

02

Customer Problem

First-timers find local kopitiam menus hard to read and don't know what to order or how to eat it. Locals, meanwhile, want the real thing — not a watered-down version. Most concepts serve one audience at the expense of the other.

03

The TOAST Solution

A Malaysian breakfast house built around a small, well-made core — kaya toast, soft-boiled eggs, local kopi and Malaysian favourites — presented simply enough for anyone to enjoy, and authentic enough to earn local respect.

04

Target Customers

Primary: non-Malaysians trying local breakfast for the first time. Essential: Malaysian locals whose approval validates authenticity. Secondary over time: investors and, later, partners who want to grow the model.

05

Founding Menu Strategy

Start narrow and get it right. A tight founding menu — clearly labelled as concepts in testing — keeps quality high, operations simple and training fast, while community input shapes what we test next.

06

Proposed Store Formats

Four formats we intend to develop from a single validated model — from a flagship experience down to a mobile pop-up.

Flagship Breakfast House
A full sit-down destination showcasing the complete Malaysian breakfast experience.
Neighbourhood TOAST
A compact everyday outlet for local, repeat morning trade.
TOAST Counter
A small-footprint kiosk for malls, transit and office lobbies — grab & bungkus.
Pop-up & Events
A mobile format for markets, festivals and brand discovery.

Proposed operating formats, subject to validation through the first outlet.

07

Business Model

Revenue is built around a focused breakfast daypart: dine-in and takeaway (bungkus) food and drink, with room over time for packaged goods (kaya, kopi) and a membership layer. Because the menu is tight and repeatable, the model is designed for consistent margins and fast staff training rather than one-off complexity.

08

How TOAST Scales

A tight menu, documented operations and purpose-built restaurant infrastructure make each new outlet easier to open and run consistently. Technology here is an operating advantage — not a separate product.

09

Development Roadmap

One validated outlet first — then a documented model — then measured replication.

Now
Validate the first outlet
Finalise the founding menu, recipes, packaging and store format, and prove the model in one location.
Next
Refine & document
Turn what works into a repeatable playbook — operations, sourcing, training and unit economics.
Later
Replicate & partner
Roll out proven formats and open selective partnerships once the model is validated.
